This photo was taken from The Grande (South building), a residential highrise in the Marina District. Bayside by Bosa Development, which should be completed in 2009, is the only residential building that will be closer the Bay than The Grande.
Although Mission Beach/ Mission Bay has long been a popular vacation spot, recent development is becoming more friendly to the full time resident. Shown above are bayfront units held mostly as rental property. Across Mission Boulevard, beach front units are selling between two million and 5 million - some owner occupied year round.

One of San Diego’s original residential neighborhoods, Normal Heights, is located above (to the south) Mission Valley. Adams Avenue is at times a flashback to a much younger San Diego.
